Diane Windham is the NOAA Fisheries West Coast Regional Aquaculture Coordinator in California. She works out of the Sacramento Office of NOAA Fisheries. Ms. Windham has over 31 years of federal regulatory experience, including 24 years with NOAA Fisheries. She represents NOAA Fisheries' Office of Aquaculture and serves as a liaison between NOAA Headquarters and the West Coast Region, as well as between the various NOAA Fisheries divisions in California, academia and research, and the aquaculture industry. Ms. Windham is involved with aquaculture policy development as well as research and development activities and is currently working on several southern California offshore aquaculture projects in both State and Federal waters, as well as numerous shellfish projects in northern California.

Before becoming the West Coast Regional Aquaculture Coordinator in California, Diane worked as a Supervisory Fish and Wildlife Biologist at the NOAA Fisheries Sacramento Office, working on recovery planning and other Endangered Species Act (ESA) issues. She has an extensive background in the federal ESA regulatory program, including Section 7 and 10 activities, as well as the Magnuson Stevens Fishery Conservation Act and Marine Mammal Protection Act.
